Officer Change-up

There has been a leadership change in the Saint John chapter of CMC. The changes are as follows:

1st Officer - Rick "Wolf" Gaudet
2nd Officer - Jeff "Billboard" Benson
3rd Officer - Craig "Big Dogs" Gaudet
4th Officer - Jeff "God of Thunder" Scott
Financial Officer - Joe "Tank Girl" Curtis

The Calendar

There was an officer meeting last night to discuss what is going on with the calendar and what our options are and the vote was unanimous. As of right now there is no way that we can financially support the calendar. We were hoping that at some point it would become self sufficient, but that day has not come nor is it likely that it will. As of now, the calender is indefinitely suspended unless we have some insurgence of cash.

It was a great project with a large scope that has turned out to be well outside our means and as much as we wanted it to be more successful, the cost incurred is over and above what was expected.

Now, that being said, we are open to suggestions on how to finish it which is the second reason for this post. We'd be glad to keep printing if we had some way to fund it. We even thought about redesigning the calendar in order to use less ink, but it still comes down the fact that we cannot afford to purchase more ink.

On an aside, if someone still wants a calendar, we will do our best to get one printed and sent out.

Good news this time. We received the new printer from HP and it's printing just fine.

Also, some ideas were tossed around at a recent meeting and we're looking into implementing one of them. Hopefully in the next day or two you'll be able to access a spread sheet showing where we are in terms of finished and sold calendars. Bear with us as I'm going to try and get it integrated into the site, but I'm not sure how that will work.

Calendar problems

Well, we've run into some trouble. The print head for our printer gave out and although we had it replaced, the printer still won't print properly. We've spoken at length with HP and they are going to send us a new printer, but first we have to send ours back to them. On top of that, the ink cartridges that we were using are now useless due to the fact that they "marry" to the print head. We are trying to get HP to replace them, but things aren't promising.

This puts a major crimp in a project that is already behind schedule. We'll keep you updated as much as we possibly can within our schedules.

We will begin the final printing run on the calendar very soon. We've had another company (Fundy Mutual Insurance) express interest in putting an ad in, so we are waiting on payment and the ad itself.

Calendar Update

Time for an update on the calendar.

There isn't too much new information at this time. As you all know, the last event we sold at was the MQS BBQ. Due to low attendance we only sold one copy. The person that purchased the copy is now thinking about joining the club.

At our Officers meeting we decided to pursue Rhoda’s for a table in late November or early December. When we have word on that we will let you know.

While we have spoken to another company we still have not heard a yes or a no from them. So, we may or may not have another ad for the calendar.

The next run of calendars will be the final run, meaning that once started no more changes will be made to the design and no other ads will be accepted. We will try to make a few more checks with places to acquire ads as time allows. Just to let you know, the printing will be slow as funds are limited.

We have 11 copies completed and ready for sale at our next event.

Season Update

Well, the first East Coast Rally is done and was a great success. Next years will be held in Nova Scotia and should be a blast.

Our next event is a Show & Shine at the Atlantic National Exposition (ANE) in Saint John. This event is for all local clubs and the ANE organizers make a donation to the Dr. David Stephen Memorial Foundation in the names of the clubs attending. Lets get a good showing!
